The local classifieds are always an amazing place for unique finds, and as I’m on the prowl for things for my new house I’m seeing more and more gothic items on Gumtree, the Australian version of Craig’s List/Classifieds.
But since I only have so much space in my house, I thought I’d share some of these finds with you in case you might want to take some of the pretties home.
I just adore Cephalopods. Octopuses, squid, cuttlefish… They’re all just brilliant. Here’s a eight ways we can have octopus decor in our very own homes. SeeWhatIDidThere
Since I’m on a quest to customise my home to be anything but boring, I though I’d bring you along for the ride with the fun yet functional things I find. Sometimes these will be affordable, sometimes not, sometimes it depends on what your definition of ‘affordable’ is and how far your purse strings go. I’m saving to buy a home, so the answer for me is not very far, but a girl can dream and I can certainly peruse the beauties…
In my never ending quest to fill my home with things that put the fun in FUNctional, I’ve been looking at knifeblocks.
Knifeboards are a great way to hold all your knives in one place and avoid accidentally cutting off phalanges, but who says your knifeboard has to look like everyone else’s? I’ve found a few that cut the mustard, if you’ll excuse the expression, so here’s a countdown of my top 10 knifeblocks, including the one that currently graces my kitchen bench!
This fun knifeblock is a DIY from Instructables, with all the instructions to make your own. I love projects like this, but for those less woodwork-inclines you can probably find one that someone has made on Etsy or on Amazon.
